Admins Who Shouldn't Be (Not GWG)
Well, here's the story. I'm trying to relax and take my mind off my toe by brutally beating the hell out of some folks on Battlefield 2. I'm playing Warlord and got thrown on the Middle East team. Blah - they use crappy weapons. I had my Jackhammer shotgun unlocked so I decided to go roll with it and just see what I could do. Turns out - I can do A LOT. I got 6 deaths but ranked up over 32 kills. I've never done that my whole life - I was shocked. For once, I was actually having a lot of fun in a game. I had a fighting chance and I was number 1. I felt like a God. But, of course, I realize some people are cut out to be admins... Because some dipweed thought I was cheating and decided to kick me, simply because I took his place as first when he was whoring a tank all the time and because I killed him a lot. GREAT! WONDERFULL! I DIDN'T GET MY POINTS BECAUSE I DIDN'T FINISH THE ROUND. I almost threw my computer across the room. Instead, I got the name of the admin on that server, found out he was a junior admin, and had the higher ups kick his ass out of power for misuse of rights. Sure, the jackass got what he deserved.. But I still don't got my points, and my experiance is ruined. Words cannot describe how much I wanna rip his eyes out of his sockets.
So, anyone else have a run in with a reallly crappy admin?

wow that sucks echo. id be pissed. ive never had one that bad but i was playing Battlefront 2 online and some stupid admin kicked me for "lag" even though i was in a spot that allowed me to snipe people like crazy. (16 kills half the round). i died 3 times or so but i got kicked because he didnt like how i had sniped him 5 times. but then he wouldnt kick any of the guys taht went into a glitch where they could kill us but we couldnt kill them casue the guys were on his team. so of coures my team eventualy lost (i had to go back in after gettign booted out for lag) stupid admins i dont remember the guys name but thats just lame. u have to keep people in that cheat so u can win.

being an admin for FPS games is hard. I'm currently in a clan for Counter Strike (our clan don't want to go to source yet) and we constantly get peoples who don't listen to our non-camping rule and act like idiots. Usually my routine is admin_slay, slap. Than if they mouthed out some more or start abusing more rules than its admin_kick.. If that doesn't work, i'll admin_ban you for a day or two.
Basically admin shouldn't abuse their powers and only use it if there is rule breakers on the server.

I know what you mean, Echo. I play BF2, and play the engineer class a lot so I know how you feel when doing wicked with the jackhammer.
Several times I've soloed my way over to an enemy base, and I'd run in as secretly as I could and I'd plant a single AT mine under each and every one of their vehicles. It's great because I don't even have to detonate them, people can't see them, and as soon as someone hops in BOOM! that shit explodes and knocks the crap out of 'em. I love it, but sissy admins don't.
I need to find a server where they allow bunny hopping, base raping, spawn camping, AT mining bases, sitting at the end of the runway with the M95 and shooting a jet pilot as soon as he jumps in, where they'll let me swear at people, etc. I really need a good home server for that game...'cause I hate sissies ruining my badassness.

Oh, I know a few. I just selected that one just because it was a Special Forces map I liked. I should NEVER do that. And I tell ya - I'm surprised the Jackhammer can do that much. I never really used it that much, but god DAMN I wish I had picked it up earlier. In Warlord, it SLAUGHTERED those Brits. Pie - you and I gotta kick some ass soon.

We own Battlefield 2. I bought it for my daughter (Gwen Thor). I should boot it up and play a round with you Echo & Pie. You two can carry my Green Ass Recruit-ness around the battlefield. I am not big on FPS. The online thing is so non-friendly to me. Now if I was with people I knew and we had TS running...then that could be a blast. We can just use our Guild's TS server....Celtor won't mind.

The server had great maps.
The server had music and sound mods to play so it added to the fun. Especially if one played the "KHAN!" sound after a kill or the Benny Hill theme song and just watch people run around.
But, the admins had two rules that ticked me off after playing there for a while.
Camping was allowed.
Dont complain about camping.
I dont mind some types of camping. Holding strategic points as a team can add fun though can be frustraiting at times when trying to clean them out of that spot.
IF you complained about the excessive camping...BOOM! perma banned.
Of course, there were maps that teams didnt hold strategic points...they just spawn camped.
I enjoyed the server at first, but after getting in playing with the admins and seeing how they played and just dismissed annoyed players, I never went back to the server and took a break from HL2 M.

Honestly mate, I think all servers SHOULD allow camping by ALL means. That would include setting up a big ass weapon to murder you as soon as you spawn. Personally I love campers, it's easier to hit someone when they're not moving. On our Day of Defeat server if anyone complains about camping they get the boot, 'cause it's perfectly legal and it's funny as hell.

All the eathmatchs end up as grins .
I play Battlefield 2...
I like medic the most, after that it's the engineer.
I really don't mind camping, cause I do it myself . If someone is spawn killing me, I'll be thinking, "I'm gonna kick this guy's ass once he is preoccupied"...
It's gets me hyped up. Most of the time I never get to ass-kicking .

The only FPS I play is F.E.A.R, I don't think there are any mods on that game and I doubt there will ever be. F.E.A.R is a very fast paced game and when you are having 8 on 8 TDM, it sure is very difficult to get a kill .
Im also planning on getting a new game, maybe BF2, would you guys reccomend it?

I only recommend getting BF2 if you've got a DAMN good computer. Unless you're running it near maxed out so it looks decent it's not worth it, because the gameplay without any of it being good looking isn't worth it. If you've got an average computer go with Half-Life 2 or some Half-Life 2 package, the source games (CS: S, DoD:S, HL2, HL2 DM, etc) are much easier on your system and are just as fun to play.

I would...
But,
-Long loading times
-It's a computer energy hog
-It's a bit buggy
If you like big maps with up to 64 people on battling it out at the same time, go ahead. That's why I bought the game.

It's only buggy if you got a slower computer. The load times don't really exsist for me anymore, and I only have a slightly top-range processor with only 2024MB of RAM. The bugs come from recources being needed and not supplied. It happend with Half-Life 2 and DOOM 3 a lot.
I'd TOTALLY recommend Battlefield 2 with the Special Forces expansion, and the up coming Euro expansion (FN P90, A FAMAS and a whole batch of more HK weapons. Sweeeet). It's got a lot of fun, a lot of medals, ribbons and badges to earn, and a LOT of guns.

Well, keep in mind I built this thing primarily as a gaming rig. Everything in it is exactly what I wanted it to be. 2 gigs is more than enough, but most people seem to go for 4 now a days. ONLY upgrade if you know exactly what you want your comp to do.

back on topic though:
people who shouldn't be admins? people who can't tell the difference between hacks and blind luck. those are the real assholes.
and people who try to call you stupid when they're the ones who can't spell "stupid" in the first place.

Amazingly, I haven't had all that many run-ins with bad admins who have mistreated me. At least none that I knew of.
Back before CS: Source, I once got a hold of the admin password of a server I frequented at the time. Those were good times, I never really abused it, but people who wanted to be asshats cause there were no members of the server's clan online at whatever time got what they deserved.

The hole reason for me quiting anything with Source in it's name was because of admins. Anything you where with a score of 20+ kills 0 deaths you where all of a sudden a "hacker". I guess people in CS:S need to learn a thing called move left and right and aim for the head...
I have played a lot of online role-playing games with idoit admins too, same with Starwars Battlefront. Once you kill there clan members they boot you, or if you take their tie fighter... So dumb...
